Elsamere & Malewa House

ACCOMMODATION IN ELSAMERE CONSERVATION CENTER

Elsamere is the former home of the late Joy Adamson who, together with her husband George, became world famous for their pioneering conservation work and relationship with the Lioness Elsa, as told in her best-selling book and subsequent film: Born Free.
Elsamere Conservation Center is a bird watcher's paradise, over 200 species of birds have been recorded and rare species such as the Verraux's Eagle Owl are regularly sighted. Early mornings at Elsamere Conservation Center are as special time: the African Fish Eagles herald the dawn with their memorable ringing cry and the chorus of the bird song continues through-out the day.

MALEWA HOUSE / MALEWA LODGE – KIGIO WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY

Situated on the banks of the Malewa River and now within the boundaries of the magnificent Kigio Wildlife Conservancy, the Malewa Ranch House has been renovated to fit in with the comforts of the 20th century with 5 very comfortable bedrooms. Malewa Ranch House is a secret home, in a hidden valley that offers peace and tranquility and time for reading and relaxation. Alternatively, it can also be the home of activities for game drives, walking with wildlife, nature walks, bird watching, fly-fishing, rock climbing and abseiling.

This has always been the 'master bedroom’ with an open fireplace and cedar wood floors. It has a double bed and shares a bathroom with the Chintz Room.
