  EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND CONSERVATION 11 Days Safari

Program Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi, met and transfer to the Hotel. The rest of the day at your disposal, with dinner and the overnight at the Sarova Panafric hotel/Similar.

Day2: Nairobi - Lake Bogoria - Lake Baringo.
Depart from Nairobi early in the morning for the Great Rift Valley via the viewpoint where you will enjoy the glittery sceneries weather permitting. Drive down into the escarpment via Lake Elementaita, Nakuru town and across the equator arriving at Lake Bogoria in time to take your packed lunch. The lake has hot springs and geysers that result from volcanism; it is the breeding ground of the flamingoes and its high concentration of other bird species easily identified. Identify some plains game as you drive out of the park for lake Baringo where we will spend the night camping.

Day 3: Lake Bogoria - Lake Nakuru
Enjoy a morning walk at the nature trails with an optional boat ride to view hippos, crocodiles as well as birds that are in abundance. Later, depart for Lake Nakuru with lunch en route arriving at the pink lake in time for a game drive. The park is a sanctuary for Rhinos and migratory birds. Hunt for the plain game including the shy leopard in the acacia woodlands, waterbucks, buffalos, giraffes and others. Drive to the shores of the lake to view the world spectacle of millions of birds that give the lake a stunning plumage. Dinner and over night at the camp.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha.
A morning game drives to the baboon cliff to have an over view of the lake in a clear morning as you study the baboon life and social organization. The cliff acts as a home to different species of reptiles among them the lizards, seen basking in the sun. Drive through the euphorbia forest that is the biggest in Eastern Africa as you hunt for plain game and different bird species. Back to the camp for breakfast and later depart for Lake Naivasha with a stop over at Lake Elementaita arriving at the lake in time for lunch. After noon visit to Elsmere field center where you will have a lecture about the lake with an optional boat ride to the Crescent Island. Dinner and over night at the camp.

Day 5&6:Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara
After breakfast, drive to Masai Mara game reserve meeting the pastoral Maasai herding their livestock arriving at the camp in time for lunch. Enjoy game drives in this land of breath taking where every thing is big with endless plains. Hunt for the big game and their associated predators. Optional visit to a Masai village to make friendship with the local people. Dinner and over night stays at the camp.

Day 7: Masai Mara –Tsavo
Say ‘kwaheri’ to the pastoral Masai driving to Tsavo National park via Nairobi for lunch at the famous carnivore restaurant arriving at the park in the evening. Dinner and over night at the camp.

Day 8: Tsavo - Mombasa
Enjoy a game drive en route to Mombasa as you hunt for the big game, with a visit to Mzima springs where millions of litters of water sprinkle out from the surrounding Chyulu hills offering a home to hippos, easily observed from a submerged glass observation point. Visit Shetani lava flow that looks like a resent volcano. Afterwards, drive to Mombasa arriving in the late afternoon. Evening city orientation tour with a visit to fort Jesus built by early visitors to the coast and used as the center for administration & military. Dinner and over night at the camp/guest house.

Day 9: Malindi
After breakfast, drive north to Malindi Marine Park for a boat ride as you learn different things on marine life. Afternoon visit to Vasco Dagama pillar built as a symbol of hospitability by Malindi people in welcoming visitors. Drive back to Mombasa with a stop over at Gede ruins, which is a historical monument built in the 12th century and has its walls still intact. Dinner and overnight at the camp/guest house.

Day 10: Mombasa
Full day in Mombasa with a visit to mamba village, Haller park nature trails which is a reclaimed land from Bamburi cement mines with fisheries, crocodile farm, snake park, giraffe, buffalo among others. Have a chance to swim in the clean white sands. Dinner and overnight at the camp/guest house.

Day 11: Departure
Say ‘kwaheri’to the coast as you drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route arriving in the afternoon where the safari ends. Read More
